La Asamblea Nacional de Panamá es el órgano unicameral que ejerce el poder legislativo del país homónimo que está integrada por 71 diputados electos por votación popular directa para un período de 5 años. La Asamblea Nacional sesiona durante ocho meses, dividido en dos legislaturas de cuatro meses cada una, una que se extenderá desde el 1 de julio hasta el 31 de octubre, y otra desde el 2 de enero hasta el 30 de abril. Su función es expedir las leyes necesarias para el cumplimiento de los fines y el ejercicio de las funciones del Estado.
